Post 2 - The best concert I've had
When someone
ask me about the best concert of my life I immediately think about The Strokes
on Lollapalooza. It was on April 2, 2017, in Parque O’higgins.
The strokes
is a rock band from New York, formed in 1998. They became very popular with
their debut album Is this it,
released in 2001. Since then, they’ve been very influential in many rock bands
of the 2000’s and 2010’s.
In Lollapalooza
there are several stages so the artists can play simultaneously, and you have
to choose where to go. I remember that the day of the concert my friends and I
arrived very early to the stage where The Strokes was going to play. They were
the last ones to perform so we saw a few bands that played at the same stage
before. We were very focused on get the closest to the stage as possible. When
The Strokes started their show we were really close to the stage, the problem
was that people was so excited about the band that we lost each other in the crowd.
Nevertheless, the show was great and I’m very happy that I could see live a
band that I’ve been listening since I was a teenager.
One funny
thing that happened was that in the first 2 songs the microphone of Julian
Casablancas (the lead singer) was muted, so the crowd began to boo. The band
was clearly confused because they didn’t know why that was happening. When
their finished the second song a guy from the backstage told them what was
going on and they laughed. Then, they played the same two songs again but with
the microphone unmuted. It was like having a karaoke with the band playing for
us to sing.
A karaoke played by the band XD, that's such a fun observation. I've never went to Lollapalooza but this kind of experiences like this one make me want it.
